INTERPRETATION

Description Delegator Delegate(s) Conditions/Limitations
Write off assets, debts, and obligations per section 60 of the FAA and section 1 of the Delegation of Authority Regulations. FMB Ministers

Deputy Heads
Write-off within own department only, to a maximum of $50,000 (Ministers) or $25,000 (Deputy Heads) per asset, debt, or obligation.
Forgiveness of a debt or obligation per section 62 of the FAA. FMB Ministers

Deputy Heads
Forgiveness within own department/agency only, to a maximum of $500 per debt or obligation.
Repay money that has been received erroneously or received for a purpose that is partially or not fulfilled per section 49 of the FAA. Comptroller General

Deputy Head of a Public Agency
Directors of Finance (or equivalent)  
Make accountable advances within contribution funding transfers, per sections 98 and 99 of the FAA. Comptroller General Directors of Finance (or equivalent) or sub-delegation Individuals sub-delegated financial authority by the SSR cannot sub-delegate the authority to others.
Make accountable advances in the form of advance payments within procurement contracts, per sections 98 and 99 of the FAA. Comptroller General Directors of Finance (or equivalent) or sub-delegation Individuals sub-delegated financial authority by the SSR cannot sub-delegate the authority to others.
Make accountable advances for travel expenses, per sections 98 and 99 of the FAA. Comptroller General Directors of Finance (or equivalent) or sub-delegation Individuals sub-delegated financial authority by the SSR cannot sub-delegate the authority to others.
