What is the Liquor Revolving Fund?
The Liquor Revolving Fund was established under the Liquor Act and provides working capital to finance the operations of the Liquor Licensing Board, the Liquor Commission and the administration and enforcement of the Act.
What are the uses of the Revolving fund?
The operations of the Board, the Commission and the Liquor Enforcement Division are funded by the sale of alcoholic drinks.
The Liquor Licensing Board is responsible for the issuance of all types of liquor permits. Liquor Licensing and Enforcement provides support to the Board, is responsible for the enforcement of liquor-related regulations and restrictions, and assists communities in respect of matters arising under the Act. The Northwest Territories Liquor and Cannabis Commission is responsible for the purchase, warehousing, distribution and sale of all alcoholic beverages in the Northwest Territories.
