The GNWT assisted with administration funding for the implementation of the NWT Broadband Program, a partnership between Falcon Communications GP Limited and northern service providers. Falcon is currently working with Northwestel on a $29.6M project to improve broadband across the North. This funding will aid in improving northern telecommunications infrastructure, and the project will result in mobile data services (4G) in every NWT community by the time of completion in 2017.

Recognizing that Northern residents deserve the same access and services as the rest of Canada, GNWT funding has helped support project management activities.
