Directives 4.14.2(b) and 4.20.1(f) have been revised to specify the Government of Canada’s
Accommodation Directory, rather than the “Government’s Hotel Directory white pages”, which
can be misleading.

Directive 4.14.2 has been split into directives 4.14.2 and 4.14.3 to further clarify that prior
approval is necessary for any alternative northern accommodation that is not registered under
the Business Incentive Policy, and that such accommodation must be identified as
“unregistered” on the Travel Authorization and Expense Claim Form.

Directive 4.20.2(b)(iii) has been clarified to read “ground transportation costing $10.00 or
less...”

Minor formatting changes have been applied.

Approval of this Policy is within the scope of powers and duties entrusted to the
Comptroller General in accordance with Section 12(2) of the Financial Administration Act and
FAM Policy 1042, Directive 4.4.

The Government Accounting Division, Financial Management Board Secretariat is responsible
for the language and interpretation of this Policy.
