Section: 1706 Accounting for Petty Cash

Title to this Policy was revised to “Accounting for Petty Cash” from “Accountable Advances –
Petty Cash” to better reflect the scope of Petty Cash treatment. Other changes include deletion
of outdated references and procedures, referencing to the current numbering system and
general formatting for consistency in accordance with FAM 1040.

Approval of this Policy is within the scope of powers and duties entrusted to the
Comptroller General in accordance with Section 12(2) of the Financial Administration Act and
FAM Policy 1042, Directive 4.4.
