Section: 1501 Accounting Policy for Government Departments and Public Agencies

This policy was amended to be consistent with current Public Sector Accounting Board
standards and best practice. In addition, directives have been revised for relevance,
redundancy and consistency with the Financial Administration Act and the Public Accounts
reporting standards.

Approval of this Policy is within the scope of powers and duties entrusted to the
Comptroller General in accordance with Section 12(2) of the Financial Administration Act and
FAM Policy 1042, Directive 4.4.
