Originally published in 2017, this discussion paper was used to inform the public of the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) planned approach to implement a carbon tax. While is document provides important detail about the GNWT's rationale for how the tax is structured, it was published before legislation was enacted.

Please refer to the Petroleum Products and Carbon Tax Act and Regulations for more information on how the Northwest Territories' carbon tax is structured.
