Revision of Regulations

Now that the new Liquor Act has been finalized, it is time for those who work in the liquor system to work out the operational details. This is done by reviewing and, if necessary, rewriting each of the existing regulations to make sure they are consistent with the new Act. It also requires writing some new regulations.

Revising the regulations is a lengthy but necessary step to improving liquor legislation in the NWT.

We expect the new Liquor Act and the revised regulations to come into effect in the fall of 2008.
