Communication about new liquor legislation will occur in 2 phases:

Phase 1 - Project Update

A new Liquor Act received assent in the NWT Legislative Assembly on August 23, 2007. Most people, however, do not realize that the new Act does not come into force until all the regulations are revised. This phase of the communication plan is to inform people of the status of the legislation and what happens next.

Phase 2 - Communication of Changes

Prior to implementing the new legislation, a series of communication activities will occur to provide the public and stakeholders with clear information about how changes will affect them. We are planning to commence communication activities in September 2008.
